A Miscarriage of Justice

The release of the four Lebanese Generals implicated in the Hariri murder poses grave concerns for the nascent Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL). While the US has barely recovered from the OJ Simpson "innocence", the STL has quadrupled the record.

What led Detlev Mehlis to proclaim the guilt of the Generals and what drove his successors to scrap his findings? For those who truly understand the political system in Lebanon during the Syrian occupation know too well that the Generals are as guilty as it can be, at least for masterminding the execution of the plot to kill Prime Minister Hariri.

Should the STL be given the benefit of a doubt? Time will tell....and time is on Assad's side.
